The rapper and his son dive deeper into NFTs with a collection that adds utility to NFT real-estate.

Famous rapper Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus (aka “ChampMedici”) have partnered with MOBLAND to launch digital weed farm NFTs in the Metaverse. The virtual items will pioneer an all-new “grow to earn” feature, among various other utilities for business buildings and land.

The Beginning of NFT 3.0

According to MOBLAND co-founder Roy Liu, the weed farms are part of the third generation of NFTs.

“NFT 1.0 is about individual character and item, NFT 2.0 is about land and real estate, NFT 3.0 is about business and utility on top of the land and real estate,” he said.

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are unique digital assets that have ownership certified on a blockchain. The assets are gaining popularity as bridges linking various virtual worlds, games, and “metaverses”.

Meanwhile, MOBLAND is a mafia-themed metaverse backed by names like Do Kwon (co-founder of Terraform Labs), Justin Kan (co-founder of Twitch), and Animoca Brands.

It is frequently regarded as the crypto-version of Mafia Wars, a game where players act as gangsters in their own mafia-style organization. The metaverse is set to launch its “business buildings” within the next two months.

ChampMedici said that his father was the first to introduce him to video games and weed and that bringing them together felt like a “no-brainer” for him. Some of his exclusive content will also be made available from this partnership.

The NFT artist’s name is inspired by Cozomo de’ Medici, a popular NFT collector that was later revealed as Snoop Dogg himself. The rapper got the idea of partnering with MOBLAND from his son.

“There is a paradigm shift happening here and I want to be at the forefront of this,” said Snoop.

Snoop’s Love of NFTs

Snoop Dogg is a well-established voice in the crypto and NFT world already. Besides his numerous NFT purchases, he’s formed various partnerships with crypto companies and launched collections of his own. Following the recent launch – which was linked to Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs – ApeCoin soared.

The rapper is now launching a collection on Cardano featuring unreleased music, in partnership with Clay Nation. It will include limited edition clay nation plots.

He’s also become a financial backer behind crypto payment startup MoonPay, alongside Justin Bieber and other artists.
