Following a partnership with Matic Network, Sapien has introduced gas-free transactions and fully-integrate and. non-custodial Ethereum wallets.

The Ethereum-based social network Sapien has partnered with Matic Network, Biconomy, and Torus Labs to enhance mainstream adoption of Web3 social media. The collaboration between the projects will enable gasless transactions and the automatic creation of non-custodial Ethereum wallets on the social platform.

Gasless Fees On Sapien’s Ethereum Network

The blockchain-based social platform describes itself as a humans-oriented project that doesn’t collect users’ personal data or track their click habits. The project announced the latest partnership in a press release shared with CryptoPotato.

It reads that Sapien has completed the migration of its platform and token economy to Matic Network’s Layer 2 sidechain infrastructure for Ethereum. As a result, Sapien will be able to take advantage of “near-instant, scalable transactions” that will “drastically” reduce the processing fees and “dramatically” speed up transactions.

Biconomy’s relayer infrastructure will enable Sapien to use meta transactions to facilitate gas-free transactions for all members employing the social platform.

Ankit Bhatia, co-founder, and CEO of Sapien, said that the project aims to make social media accessible to “virtually everyone in the world with an internet connection” with these technical partnerships.

“Anyone is now free to begin building independent communities, use tokens to curate content, and get directly rewarded for the value they contribute to those digital communities.” – Bhatia added.

Non-Custodial Ethereum Wallet

Apart from the gasless transactions, the announcement informed that Sapien had released a fully-integrated and non-custodial Ethereum wallet powered by Torus Labs. Dubbed Sapien Wallet, it will enable all platform members to automatically generate a secure digital wallet that’s connected to their Sapien account, thus eliminating the necessity of using browser extensions.

By implementing both new developments, Sapien aims to “smooth out the onboarding process for new members to join the platform and engage in a robust token economy.” Furthermore, the platform sees these integrations as the necessary pathway to bringing Web3 social media engagement to a broader audience.

Co-founder and COO of Matic Network, Sandeep Nailwal, said that blockchain technology has the potential to prevent many of the pitfalls that traditional social media platforms have brought since their launch.
