    The Blockchain Conferences You Don’t Want To Miss In 2020

    As the impact of blockchain and cryptocurrencies continues to increase throughout the world, so do blockchain conferences. These are events where one can meet and befriend like-minded people and establish fruitful connections and networking.

    As the new year recently began and the blockchain industry is already leaving marks, the following are among the most notable conferences that will occur in 2020.

    The year 2020 is expected to be a fantastic year for Bitcoin precisely due to the halving event that is scheduled to take place during the coming May.

    TOKEN 2049

    Hong Kong, Postponed to October 7 – 8 Due to the Coronavirus

    TOKEN2049 advertises itself as the flagship event of Asia Crypto Week, which was supposed to take place from March 16 to the 22nd in Hong Kong. Due to the Coronavirus, Token2049 is postponed to October. Similarly to previous years, some of the most prominent and influential figures from the blockchain industry will attend the event as speakers.

    Some of the names include the Founder and CEO of TRON – Justin Sun, the CEO of BlockFi – Zac Prince, the Founder and CEO of Abra – Bill Barhydt, and Vice President and Head of APAC at ICE – Jennifer Ilkiw.

    The event will take place at the luxurious Kerry Hotel.

    IstanBlock 2020

    Istanbul (Turkey), April 9 – 10

    The largest blockchain conference in Turkey will take place in Istanbul. The city of seven hills will host the IstanBlock 2020 from the 9th to April 10.

    The impressive list of speakers includes the Executive Chairman of bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, and NEO’s Founder, Da Hongfei. Additionally, some of the most recognized online figures in the community will be on stage as well; Nicholas Merten (“DataDash”) and Ivan Liljeqvist (“Ivan On Tech”).

    IstanBlock 2020 will be held in the Hilton Bomonti Hotel.

    Consensus

    New York (USA), May 11 – 13

    Maybe the largest and most popular blockchain event, every year since 2015. Hilton Manhattan will be hosting the Consensus blockchain conference again. The event is organized by CoinDesk, a leading hub for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology news and developments.

    Being one of the pioneering events in the industry, it has hosted the top-tier of the industry leaders. This year, the stage will take Nimrod Lehavi (CEO and Co-Founder of Simplex), Christina Lomazzo (Blockchain Lead at UNICEF), Sunny Ray (Global Business Development Lead at Kraken), Bobby Cho (President of CMS Holdings), Christina Lomazzo (Blockchain lead at UNICEF) and more.

    Paris Blockchain Week Summit

    Paris (France), December 9 – 10

    This year’s Paris major blockchain conference will feature an impressive number of prominent speakers. Some of them include Ryan Selkis, Co-Founder and CEO of Messari, Bertrand Perez, COO and Interim Managing Director of the Libra Association, and the French Minister of Economy and Finance – Bruno Le Maire.

    The venue hosting the Paris Blockchain Week Summit will be Station F in central Paris – one of the world’s largest startup campuses.

    The summit was supposed to take place on March 30th – April 1st, 2020. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, it has been postponed to the 9th-10th of December 2020.

    Korea Blockchain Week 2020

    Seoul (South Korea), June 15 – 21

    The third annual Korea Blockchain Week will take place once again in Seoul. The list of speakers to join the event includes some of the most well-known names in the industry.

    Some of them who have already confirmed are; Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum Co-Founder), Adam Back (CEO of Blockstream), Michael Novogratz (Founder and CEO of Galaxy Digital), Chris de Lavinge (Executive Director of Deloitte).

    Binance Blockchain Week

    Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), POSTPONED

    The largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume will host its second Binance Blockchain Week at the Gem Center in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, from February 29 to March 4 this year. Update: Due to the coronavirus, Binance had decided to postpone the event for now.

    Naturally, Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), will be one of the speakers. Others include Darius Sit, Managing Partner at QCP Capital, Anthony Pompliano, eToro’s Founder and CEO, Yoni Assia, and more.

    During the conference, a blockchain app development contest will be held, with a prize pool of up to $100,000.
