The Spanish amusement and leisure park – PortAventura World – would be the first in its field to add bitcoin payments as an option to its clients. The initiative would start from the next season and would initially allow crypto settlements at the resort’s hotels.
In addition, the medical diagnostics and solutions company – Todos Medical – jumped on the cryptocurrency bandwagon by enabling its patients to purchase wellness products in digital assets.
PortAventura Dives into Crypto
According to a press release, the popular theme and leisure park – PortAventura World – is developing software that would add a new cryptocurrency option for its clients. Starting from the beginning of 2022, guests of the resort’s hotels would be able to pay for their accommodation in bitcoin as well.
David García Blancas – Managing Director of PortAventura World – pointed out that the company aims to keep up with the latest trends and the rising demand for cryptocurrency options. As such, he raised hopes that the initiative would “satisfy the needs of the guests.”
Located in Catalonia, Spain, PortAventura is one of the largest entertainment resorts in Europe. Apart from its attractions such as an aqua park and a “Ferrari Land,” it also has six hotels with a total number of 2,300 rooms. People willing to pay in BTC would be able to do that at the receptions.
While PortAventura would become the first theme park to jump onboard, its hotels would not be the first to enable digital asset payments. As CryptoPotato reported in July, the Pavilions Hotels & Resorts also provided this option to clients.
Apart from bitcoin, the company, which has locations in exotic destinations such as Bali, Himalayas, Thailand, and Mongolia, added more than 40 other different cryptocurrencies, with ether being one of them.
Todos Medical Caught The Crypto Wave
Another example of the recent cryptocurrency adoption is Todos Medical’s decision to accept digital asset payments for its dietary supplements Tollovid® and Tollovid Daily™. The company implemented the following five digital assets into the offering – Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
Todos Medical explained that people could purchase the health products through the firm’s website as, upon checkout, they should select Coinbase Commerce as the form of payment. Gerald E. Commissiong – President & CEO of the company – commented on the initiative:
“The ability to accept widely utilized cryptocurrency is an important step as we broaden our marketing efforts around our novel 3CL protease inhibitor wellness products.”
Monneo Partnered with Coinbase to Add Crypto Services
The UK-based provider of virtual IBAN accounts – Monneo – also joined the recent cryptocurrency adoption list. By joining forces with the trading venue Coinbase, it enabled its clients to pay for invoices in a range of digital assets.
Two of Monneo’s partner banks supported the service as it would be available for B2B invoice settlement. Lili Metodieva – Managing Director of the company – admitted she is a proponent of the crypto industry:
“Whatever one’s perspective on cryptocurrency, it is here to stay. Many people see both the value of it and enjoy using it. We believe that by working with Coinbase, Monneo is offering its customers the highest standards in the cryptocurrency market.”
However, she added that the company would closely observe the implementation of the new opportunity so that “it is secure and reliable for both payers and payees.”
